Overview

Restraining Ties * Brackets

Masonry walls are constructed of an outer shell which is a non load bearing cladding and must be restrained against lateral loads. The wind loads must also be transferred on to the load bearing backing structure. Depending on the material used to construct the inner load bearing wall, suitable restraining ties are used in restraining the outer shell masonry walls on to inner load bearing walls.

Restraining Ties * Brackets can be securely and reliably used to restrain the brickwork walls against horizontal loads. These ties are made out ofstain- less steel and high corrosion properties to provide a long term service life.

Restraint Brackets

Brackets are used to tie back outer shell masonry walls to a load-bearing backing structure.

They are fixed to the substrate using appropriate anchor bolts, such as wall plugs, anchor bolts, or self-drilling screws when attaching to steel.

Brackets are available in stainless steel grade AISI 304 or AISI 316.

Restraint Ties

Brickwork wall tie channels and suitable wall ties are used together to restrain outer skin brickwork walls, ensuring a durable and reliable connection.

Wall ties can be positioned anywhere along the channel’s length. Fixing is done by inserting the wall ties into the channel slot and then turning them 90 degrees to securely lock them in place.

Various channel types are available, including cast-in and surface-mounted options.
